Resource Closets

Resource Closets, or Care Closets, will provide essential items to support the hygienic and dignifying needs of students. We want to equip and empower our schools’ staff to support their students as soon as a need arises.

Empowering Students Through Resource Closets

Every child deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. That’s why Albany Student Advocacy Project is launching Resource Closets, also known as Care Closets, in our schools. These closets are designed to provide essential items that meet the immediate needs of students, supporting their hygiene, comfort, and dignity. By offering underwear, shirts, pants, socks, shoes, jackets, hair brushes, hair ties, and other necessities, we ensure that no student feels unprepared or excluded due to a lack of basic resources.

Immediate Support for Students’ Needs

Care Closets are stocked with essential items so school staff can provide immediate assistance whenever a need arises.

Comprehensive Range of Supplies

From clothing like socks and jackets to hygiene items like brushes and hair ties, the closets cover a wide array of necessities.

Fostering Dignity and Confidence

Providing these resources ensures that students feel valued and supported, empowering them to focus on learning and personal growth.

A Community-Driven Initiative

Resource Closets rely on donations and local support, bringing the community together to invest in the success of its children.

With these Care Closets, we aim to equip and empower school staff to address students’ needs in real-time, fostering a supportive environment where children can thrive both academically and personally. Whether it’s a pair of clean socks on a rainy day or a warm jacket during the winter, these small but vital contributions can make a world of difference in a student’s daily life. Together, we’re removing barriers to education and creating a foundation for success.
